Connections

21 10 2007

Life is full of connections.  Connections with family, friends, co-workers, and God.  I was listening to a old message from a church in Wichita, Kansas this weekend and Mark Hoover, the pastor, talked about connections in church and I thought he made some very good points.  He said that there our four connections that we need to make going to church – to him, him connecting with us, us connecting to each other, and then finally us connecting to the lost.   I agree with him and has given me a different perspective on church especially singing prior to hearing the message I always thought praise was a response but I now see it as preparing my heart for connecting to God.

As for my current church, something he said really struck me  he said – “It is in our discomfort that the church will rise up and do what they are suppose to do”.  My challenge to reach out and make more connections to people who don’t follow Christ – isn’t that what the church is for and not to make us fat and unwilling to go out and reach those he loved.  This really got me thinking this weekend.
